What we expect from you:
It is your responsibility to make sure you are fit to drive. This means that you must be in possession of either a provisional or a full license. You will be required to produce a check code from the government website so that your license can be validated before your first lesson and you will to ensure you have your license with you for every lesson. Before you get behind the wheel you will be required to prove you can read a number plate at a distance of 20 metres away.
You will need to let us know as soon as possible if you have any medical condition, disability or injury that might affect your driving so we can keep you and other road users safe, stay within the law and support you with your driving journey to the best of our ability.
If you are feeling unwell, tired, stressed or distracted, either before or during a training session, you need to let us know, and we will do our best to reschedule your session at a calmer and more convenient time.
You must not drive if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Some prescription and over-the-counter medications can also cause drowsiness, so always read the leaflet attached.
It is important to check your lesson dates and times on our app, so you avoid missing appointments. If you are late, your driving instructor will text you 10 minutes after the scheduled appointment time.
If your instructor doesn't hear from you and you don't show within 15 minutes of the scheduled start time your lesson will be cancelled and you will be charged for the full lesson duration.
Payments:
Payment must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled start time of your lesson, failure to do this will result in your slot being offered to someone else, it is your responsibility to ensure payment is made on time.
Payment can be accepted by BACS or cash, however the first lesson must be made by BACS and if paying by cash this must be done in advance of your next lesson.
If you need to rearrange or cancel a lesson, you will need to give as much notice as possible to avoid being charged. Lessons cancelled with less than 48 hour notice will incur a 50% cancellation fee and lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will incur a 100% cancellation fee.
In the event you have paid for a block of lessons and decide you no longer wish to continue then of course you are entitled to a refund on your remaining hours of credit, however for the lessons you have taken these will be charged at the full individual lesson rate and the reminder will then be refunded to you.
What you can expect from us:
You can expect your instructor to conduct all lessons in a professional and respectful manner at all times.
We strive to keep all our commitments and appointments with you under normal conditions.
Occasionally your normal lesson slot may not be available due to pre booked driving tests but we will do our best to offer you an alternative slot.
If you are away for more than 2 weeks then your lesson slot cannot be held and will be offered to someone else.
In the unlikely event we need to postpone your lesson at short notice due to illness, mechanical breakdown, an emergency, or another unforeseen event we will get in touch to arrange an alternative lesson to suit you.
We will make every effort to let you know your lesson has been postponed as soon as possible, if we are able to do so.
Tests:
When you book your practical test, you will need to let us know the time, date and location of your test as soon as you can and the appointment email must be shown to your driving instructor for verification at your next driving lesson. We will not take any responsibility for incorrect bookings.
You will only be allowed the use of the driving school car for a driving test if the driving instructor agrees that you are ready to take the test by completing and passing at least 3 mock tests. And, to keep you and other road users safe, we reserve the right to withdraw your use of our car for the driving test, if the instructor feels you are not up to test standards.
